Chic, Unique Nursery Decor

kids1If you follow us on twitter or facebook you’ll know that Philly, one of the loveliest members of the Clifton design team, is expecting a new arrival any day now and we could not be more excited. After choosing a name, readying a room for a new baby is top of most new parents’ to do list, so we thought we’d put together a list of our top picks for creating unique rooms for special little people.

kids7At Clifton we don’t believe that a kid’s room always means lace bedspreads and a pastel palette. Our design for a London home (pictured top) embraces the house’s modern architecture with sleek inbuilt storage units and a bright yet cohesive colour scheme, making it a fun space for children’s play which can be tidied in a matter of minutes. For those parents looking for a practical, child-friendly space which retains a sense of style, fun details coupled with more traditional finishes can be a great choice. For many more chic children’s room ideas why not browse our dedicated pinterest page.

kids8kids5kids4For a softer look we love to use sheer fabrics coupled with simple accessories. In this design for a little girl’s room (pictured bottom) we used mismatched drawer pulls and patterned sheer fabrics to soften a neat modern space. A simple sheer fabric curtain can also be used to create a beautiful cosy reading corner, as pictured here.
